Just wanted to give an update about the library. We've received over 20 audio book donations from Lasalle Public library. Our DVD selection has grown as well. We are going to be offering Wi-Fi services before the end of next month. Our hours have changed and will most likely change again in wintertime.

Hello! It's been almost a year since I added a note here, so I believe it's time. :)

Another fall here in Bureau, and winter's on the way. We have many new books by authors such as James Patterson, Janet Evanovich, J.A. Jance, and Sue Grafton. These would be nice to read curled up under a warm afghan on a chilly day, feel free to come check one out!

The rearrangement is not progressing as quickly as I'd hoped, but is still in the plan. Soon we'll have a nice reading corner, with a nice "new-to-...

We now have our own bathroom! It's just been finished, and is working fine.

SO happy about this, I can't tell you. :)

Now I can attempt to continue with rearrangement plan I've had on the drawing board for the last year.

Recent budget cuts and shortages have caused some changes in our library system, PALS (Prairie Area Library System).

As I understand it, the system will be merging with all other library systems in the state of Illinois, to form one statewide system. (with the exception of Chicago, who will still have their own separate setup.)

Sadly, we've also lost the assistance of several PALS people who used to make life much easier for us librarians. Most notable among these losses, to me, is that of Nanc...

On Tuesday, Nov. 10, my lovely sometimes-assistant Jill and I drove to Menoka (just east of Joliet) to pick up a set of the Encyclopedia Britannica for our library.

This beautiful set was donated free of charge by the Menoka Public Library when they recently received a new set. Many thanks to Nancy Baker at Menoka for sifting through the many emails sent to her and deciding to let us have it - I guess I was the first to submit a request, so we got it.

Hi, all, I'm Rose Thompson, the new Library Director at Leepertown Public Library here in Bureau.

I hope to make a few changes in the library, though it may be an ongoing project.

First I would like to announce that we have a brand new computer, courtesy of the Spring Valley WalMart Distributer. It was given to the library by their donations department, and it's a nice addition - stop by and check it out!

We also have a new copier, with scanning capabilities.
